The Filipina weightlifter from Zamboanga added another streak to her wins in an international competition held in Qatar this month.

The weightlifting championship was held on December 8-9, 2015. Diaz took the gold medal in the said event, Zamboanga City Sports Director Dr. Cecile Atilano said in an interview.

Hidilyn Diaz scored 90-115, toppling down other competitors from Korea (second place) and Tunisia (third place).

Before the Qatar outing, Diaz also pulled in bronze medals in the women’s 53 kilogram division at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Weightlifting Championship in Houston, Texas.

The Zamboangueña weightlifter had already represented the country in 2008 and 2012. With her latest gold haul, she has higher chances of having a spot at the Rio 2016 weightlifting games.

Sometime in September, Diaz also won gold medals in all three weightlifting events in Phuket, Thailand.

Congratulations Hidilyn Diaz for winning another gold!
